Our story
Started at
eleven
Bora was eleven when he first worked a market stall in Turkey. Newington Green, Camden, St John's Wood - then Orford Road. He spent a lifetime learning which growers are worth trusting. The produce reflects that.
Six days
at the market
Bora is at Covent Garden and Spitalfields six mornings a week. Thirty years of grower relationships mean first pick of what's best that day. British produce from Kent, tomatoes from Italy, mangosteens from South East Asia, fruit from Colombia.
That's what ends up on the shelves. Twenty-five varieties of tomato on any given day, turnips next to tomatillos, lychees beside the celery - range you won't find anywhere else in Walthamstow.
Bought well,
sold simply
Paper bags only. Buy as much or as little as you need. Ask the staff about anything you don't recognise; half the pleasure here is being told what it is, where it's from, and how to cook it.
People stop to photograph the displays. They come back for the produce.
